Artist Statement

I am an acrylic and mixed media artist whose work is deeply inspired by nature and personal life experiences. My passion for mixed media began in high school in Atlanta, where an art class introduced me to the dynamic possibilities of combining various mediums, textures, and techniques. This foundational experience taught me how to create both 2D and 3D art by layering color, natural elements, and diverse materials. My art is a reflection of the beauty I find in nature, the complexities of life, and the tranquility that can be discovered amidst chaos. I work on a range of surfaces, including canvas, panels, wood, and mixed media paper.
Art has always been a beacon for me, especially through life's trials and tribulations. I was fortunate to be mentored by my late grandmother, a renowned photographer and art collector. She instilled in me an appreciation for art's power to evoke emotion and ignite curiosity, and together, we spent countless weekends exploring art openings, markets, and fairs. Throughout the years I have learned to see and create light in the darkness, a lesson that continues to resonate in my work today.
